Ozume Kaname is a traditional silk painting artist located in Japan.
I saw this wall hanging a few years ago - there were several and there was no reference to who the original watercolour artist was - at long last I was able to find the name of the artist and this is my TRIBUTE to his work. I am in NO WAY trying to steal or take credit for anybody else's creation.
The original can be seen here [link]
I decided to try to paint this digitally. I figured it would be a challenge and I wanted something that would help me learn more about photoshop and the different tools available to me. I used mostly the airbrush, burn and dodge tools, with some smudging here and there. BUT it was a wonderful learning experience and the subject was just so delicate and beautiful that it was a joy and not at all a chore. I chose colors different from the original wall hanging (which was actually quite pale I thought but stunning none the less). And I added more texture to her hair and MUCH more detail to the flowers, spider, and butterfly on her back.
I do hope you enjoy it
